As you may know, Americans recently remembered the anniversary of 9/11. I was in the third grade when it happened. I didn’t realize what happened until a couple years later. I was too young then to understand what was going on. But when I realized what had happened, I didn’t believe it until I saw the videos. My mom and dad watched that morning while I was in school and called in to work saying that something bad was happening and they couldn’t come. They both watched it live, and as soon as my dad saw the hole in the first tower he knew it was terrorists.
This mainly affects me because I have 4 cousins in the service; three Marines and one Navy top gun. All four have fought in Iraq, and two are there right now. Every year in school on 9/11 we watch a video and give a moment of silence. Then at home I watch tribute videos online. Watching those videos again, I still feel the sadness and shock that I did the first time I watched. I feel even worse imagining what it was like for the families who lost loved ones in the towers. Let’s not forget the people whose loved ones were lost, or the firefighters who gave their lives to save them. I think this will affect America’s future generations because terrorists will keep be trying to hurt America. And one day something might happen that we should be prepared for. Terrorists don’t want to be friends. Americans should never forget 9/11, and that our way of life is precious and worth defending.
Here are three good 9/11 tribute videos:

Great post, Nick! I just got home from a family vacation and we happened to be driving through Pennsylvania near where United Flight 93 crashed so we took the time to visit the site. Wow. Being there and talking to the local woman who was volunteering there was just amazing. If you’re interested, the family members of the heroes are trying to raise funds for the permanent memorial, and have a website which is http://www.honorflight93.org

Wonderful post. I am so very very thankful for your cousins who serve in the armed forces to protect our freedom on a daily basis. I can honestly say that I pray for them - that God would fill them to the top and overflowing with strength, courage, wisdom, and peace that passes all understanding.
One way that I show support for our nation is through purchasing American made products. I was wondering if you have any favorite American made products? I’m trying to compile a list of quality products that are still made in the USA. Come check out my site and let me know if you have any favorites. I add new links everyday. I don’t make any money off of this - I just want to see more jobs stay here in America - and high quality products that are safe.
Please stop by and let others know as well!
Thank you!

Thank you both for your thoughts and blessings. I thought my skateboard was American made, but I’m not sure anymore. I know Powell boards are. I do know that the Spongebob Squarepants show is made in America, and I like that as much as any product you can touch. The music I like is made in America, though I don’t know where they cut the CD’s.
I like many video games that are made in America, like EA Sports. (they made Madden NFL)
I don’t get hung up on every piece of the product being made in America, as long as there’s a good American business involved. For example, China made a bunch of cheap DVD players, but our actors, studios, and delivery people all make money over and over while the box was a one time purchase. And some japanese companies make cars in alabama, georgia, and stuff, hiring lots of Americans. That’s not a terrible thing.
Amy, I would like to see them put up a terrific memorial for flight 93. I watched that movie, and those people were the biggest heroes of 9/11. They actually saved many lives with their bravery. They should get the congressional medal of honor.
Patriot - I think you have a great idea, and I will visit to see what companies are there. USA is the best. Every fourth of July my family watches a movie called Avalon, and are happy we live here.
