As I sit here typing, 4 boys are sprawled about the room engrossed in a silly show on the television. They’re not paying attention to the tapping on the keyboard or the fact that I keep staring at them over the laptop.
I love watching them when they don’t know I’m looking. Their expressions as they watch the show are hilarious. They get so involved in the action…furrowing their eyebrows in moments of stress, laughing at the jokes, and groaning loudly when Hubby shows up and quips “They’re all gonna die” just when the plot is most exciting.
Honestly if you had told me 13 years ago (when I was a new bride) that I would be the mother of 4 boys that I home-schooled, I’m not sure I would have believed you. Life so far has been funny and frustrating, blessed and fulfilling, busy and challenging. But here I am, and I know it’s all been worth it.
We’re more than [gulp] halfway to 18 with the older boys. Sometimes I’m haunted by the idea that there’s not enough time… that I won’t be able to have all the adventures or tell all the stories before they leave the nest. Does anyone else feel that way?

I feel this way, especially with my oldest, who has only 4 more years until 18. I thought we would have more time…

Every day…
We only have Twinks, and with all of her health issues, I often worry that we have missed out on so much.
The good news for us (parents) is that our kids don’t know what we worry about missing with them…

I just potty trained my 2yo and I’m already feeling it. I feel it every time he hits a mile stone that I long for him to hit. Every time it passes, however, I feel saddened as time slips by.
