Hot Stuff Of The Week!

November 13th, 2007 by Stu Mark · No Comments

new-image.JPGEvery week, rain or shine, GNMParents runs a poll giving you, our most wonderful of readers, the opportunity to vote for Hot Stuff Of The Week – to tell us who really rocks the Internet. This week’s winner, which includes a nifty badge and bragging rights for weeks to come, is… Meredith! Her winning post was a breakdown of the financials of parenting, called “Why I Had To Go To Work.” Congratulations Meredith, and thanks for sharing your insight, it really gave us an interesting perspective on the costs of having kids.

We now present to you, at no cost to you (after rebate), our latest Hot Stuff Of The Week poll. Nominated by readers like yourself, these entrants are vying for a pretty coveted title, so give them each a solid read and then vote your hearts out!

Our first candidate is Alex Elliot, who brings us her very cogent thoughts on kids and their decisions about tv. Called “Choosing What To Watch,” it provides a glimpse into Alex’s perspective on empowering her children.

Next up is Matilde, who has an interesting interaction with her kid about the choice of becoming Chief Household Officer. Matilde brings up thoughts that a lot of us have – on our “worthiness” of being stay-at-home parents.

Our third nominee is a mother of twins, who very candidly, and with humor to spare, explains why she thinks she is a neglectful mother. I’ll never eat yogurt the same way again!

Finally, Not That Into Gluing brings us a thoughtful essay on television and how it’s changed. Ah, yes, it’s true, we inevitably become our parents.

Ok folks, you know the drill, read each entrant, mull them over with a nice hot cup of tea, and then cast your ballot:

Who’s The Hottest Of The Hot?
GNMParents And The Stuff They Think Is Hot
Choosing What To Watch
Opportunity Cost
I Am A Neglectful Mother
Childhood: Not Like It Was

Thanks so very much for voting! We really appreciate your input and hope that our poll provides you with more stuff to think about. (As if you needed to cram even more stuff into your already over-stuffed brain!)

As a way of thanking you for your readership, let us introduce you to our RSS feed. Want to subscribe? It’s easy, just fill in your email address in the field near the top of our sidebar. Before you can say “Now where did I stash those Oreo cookies?,” you’ll be signed up to get the latest posts from GNMParents. Pretty nifty, huh?

What about you? What’s your Internet look like? Who’s hot in your eyes? Send your “Hot Stuff Of The Week” nominations to Stu and he’ll see that they get their day at the polls. And, last but not least, thanks to every single one of you who read GNMParents. We hope it brightens your day. :-)
