Have You Heard? Summer Is Nearly Over Already!

August 15th, 2008 by Karly Campbell · No Comments

Have you heard the news? Summer is coming to an end. I know, I know. It’s shocking. But, let’s just be grateful for the time we’ve had, okay? This summer was a good one, warm and sunny and full of good times. And rainbows. I definitely remember rainbows.

Do you know what this means? School has to start back up. If you are one of those lucky parents who get to send their lovely children away to public school then you are probably happily counting down the days, but if you are one of those poor, unfortunate souls like myself you are dreading the coming school year. Work. Lots and lots of work.

OH, I KID! I’m happy to homeschool! I can’t wait to get back to it! Bring it on, school!

Actually, I AM kind of dreading the new year, but only I have so much left to do. I just can’t seem to make myself do it. Would you believe that I haven’t ordered my science program yet? Or that I still haven’t ordered a portion of our math program? Or how about the fact that I am planning on doing a study of the states this year, only I haven’t actually started PLANNING yet?

“It’s okay,” I tell myself. “I have plenty of time!” I’m such a liar. I DON’T have plenty of time and this is NOT okay. I need to get on the ball. We only have three (THREE!) weeks until we start school here. And, if we’re being completely honest, we should really start in two.

What have you got left to do before the new school year? Make me feel better about being such a procrastinator.
