The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new. ~Rajneesh
I am a better mother because I am surrounded by other mothers. These are inspired times when, despite the hour, I need only turn on my computer to have access to other people who provide strength, encouragement, laughter, empathy, sympathy, and understanding with wild abandon. I am thankful for the moms that write here and elsewhere each day. The “momo-sphere” is a community worth belonging to and deserving of applause.
Because while there is unfortunate ridicule and doubt towards parents who speak openly about their struggles and successes in personal weblogs from one corner of the internet to another, they are none-the-less impacting households from coast to coast, country to country, and continent to continent. It is a parent’s play-date in the middle of winter, or in the high heat of summer. It is support for the unsupported and company for the lonely. It sparks ideas and debate. It offers comfort and entertainment.
So, today, when moms in the US, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and many other countries are celebrated for their role in raising families, GNMParents offers you sincere thanks for sharing your realities here and elsewhere on the world wide web.
Happy Mother’s Day from GNMParents.

I agree…a mother is the sum of a woman + a child
