Giving New Meaning to Parenting

Free Recipes!

Kraft logoDo you ever get bored with food? I get bored with food. And yes, you may call me a picky eater. :) Or maybe… I’m a fad eater. I get hooked on one recipe or another and enjoy it for a while, then I don’t want to make it anymore.

So what’s a girl to do? Go out and buy a new recipe book?? NO!! Why should I when Kraft will mail me a perfectly nice one every quarter for free? It even includes coupons. Woohoo!

I bet you’re thinking there’s a catch. Yep, but just a small one. You have to go to Kraft’s site and register for the community, at which point they’ll send you weekly e-mails with recipes. While you’re there you can register for the quarterly magazine to come in the mail. I’m someone who prefers to read on paper rather than on a screen. I read the e-mails for a while and eventually unsubscribed. Not to worry, the paper version still arrives regularly. Should you want to look through old issues, Kraft has an archive available.

If you happen to be a person who likes online recipes, Kraft has all sorts of neat features like a recipe box where you can save your favorites, access to product offers, and chat boards where you can discuss your latest culinary exploits.

I am the same way about eating one thing over and over again until I get sick of it.

Over the years, I have learned that I suck at following recipes. My husband cannot cook with me…he’s a recipe guy and I’m a “dash o’ this, pinch o’ that” kinda gal. I have a handful of go to dishes.

That said, I love seeing new recipes and online is my favorite way to get them. Since I don’t actually cook from recipes very often, I hate to pay for them. I tend to read them for ingredients, methods, or combinations that intrigue me.

Anyohw…all signed up. Thanks for the heads up!

I love the Kraft website for quick meal ideas that I know my family will like. The quarterly magazine also gets read from cover to cover by me and then my 10 year old aspiring cook takes it and goes through it too.
