Our daughter should be a magician when she grows up. It never ceases to amaze me how she can make things disappear, never to be seen again. She’s particularly talented in socks, shoes, tonight’s pasta, Mommy’s hair clips and…
Binkies. Pacifiers. Pacies. However you want to term it.
Between her and her brother, I think Binky Between (or Pacie Purgatory) is a really happenin’ place. Green newborn binkies, pink newborn binkies, Winnie-the-Pooh, and Tigger. Nuks, Evenflos, you name it, it’s there. I should buy stock in Gerber, since I definitely give them enough money as it is.
Recently, my husband found a portal into Binky Between. He moved the crib away from the wall and, lo and behold, a whole set of four rather squashed-looking Binkies were wedged between the crib and the wall. Ah, Christina’s secret stash!
So that’s where she puts them. And she promptly forgets where she puts them. So at two in the morning, when she’s screaming her head off, and we’re stumbling around looking for a binky, that’s where I’ll check first. Note to self: Save Binky before it dissolves into Binky Between.

Lol. We learned to check between the crib and the wall early on. A biggie is the space between the rails along the mattress. You can look but not see the pacie, but if you feel with your hands you can usually locate it in the dark. We tried the glow-in-the-dark versions for the younger boys, but there really wasn’t enough glow to make it show up. Plus I was a little freaked at the idea of my child putting something that glows into his mouth.

Too funny. I remember that all too well! Of course, they won’t have any problems remembering where their stash is when you decide it is time to say goodbye to the Binky!
