A Bit Of A Brain Dump

March 7th, 2008 by Karly Campbell · No Comments

a big red cement question mark sculptureIt appears as though I am having a bit of a block when it comes to what to write about this week. I was whining to Cleatus about how I have nothing to tell y’all and he continued ignoring me like he always does when I talk about blogging. He is so helpful. BUT! Then I realized that maybe it is good to have nothing to talk about? Right? That means everything is going well?

It is! It’s all going very well. Sure there are things that could be better, but isn’t that always the case? Eeyore has improved in math so much. Science and history are exciting and going well. Language Arts could definitely be better, but thats not Eeyore’s fault. Its more my fault for not paying much attention to the teacher guide and now we are all out of whack. Over all, though, school is great!

Cleatus recently went from working day shift to working second shift so that has thrown our schedule off track a bit, but we are adjusting. We are still getting everything done, we just are doing things at different times. I definitely preferred him working day shift, but theres nothing I can do about that.

One thing that is stressing me out is that the end of the year is approaching. I keep obsessively checking our calender to see what day we will be finished with school. Its not that I’m in a hurry to get done, I just want to be finished up on schedule. I planned to be done the last week of May and, so far, it looks like we will be. I didn’t stress about this all year, so I’m not sure what my problem is now. Either way, I know that it will work out. If we take an extra couple weeks, so be it. If we are done early, even better!

I’m now deep in the planning stages of next year’s curriculum and am itching to start buying my supplies. I think we will just work on math and learn cursive over the summer and then start back up with full time school in the middle of August. Unless I change my mind about that schedule which I seem to do every couple of days.

So there you have it. Thats whats going on in my homeschool life. What’s going on in yours?
